Time Out is a network open to all providers for young people in Calderdale. Whether you offer activities – sports, arts, outdoor – or provide support, being part of Time Out could help you:
Spread the word about what you do.
Link up with other organisations working with young people.
Access information, help and training around mental health.
Find new sources of funding and opportunities for your organisation.
Showcase your activity to a group of young people in the form of a taster session.
Link up with potential volunteers.
Ideally your activity/service will be free or low cost and will be open access, although activities aimed at particular groups who may be socially excluded are welcome.
Becoming a partner.
If you become a Time Out provider we will add your activities to the schedule and promote what you do via our own publicity and through our network. You’ll be invited to join our quarterly network meetings where a range of young people’s providers gather to exchange information and ideas. Time Out is run by Healthy Minds, Calderdale’s independent mental health charity, and we provide training in mental health/emotional wellbeing for our providers. We can also signpost our volunteers towards your organisation, and give you support around volunteering should you need it. Linking with Time Out also means that should a young person using your activity need support, we can work with you and/or the young person to provide that. If you would like to become a formal partner you will be able to access extra resources and information via a separate section of our website. Click here to view our partnership agreement.
Taster sessions.
We can also link you with groups of young people where you can run a taster session of your activity or give information about your service. We work with both organisations and freelancers, e.g. a freelance artist could deliver an art workshop as a taster session
